A fine Regency period mahogany cased 8 day double fusee bracket clock by highly regarded London maker William Payne C.1825. The figured mahogany case with tripple brass mounted pad top and carry handle set to the centre. Matching brass sound frets to the sides and front with silk set behind. Cast brass bezel with convex glass forming the door, and matching convex painted dial set behind with Roman numerals and the makers name (William Payne working in London: reference - https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/term/BIOG76232). Fine quality original blued steel hands. Double fusee movement... with anchor escapement and bell striking on a rack, on the hour. Fully serviced and working. Present in superb condition with a rich colour and polish. Measures 11.5" wide x 7" deep x 16" high. Stock number 38122.
