A small proportioned figured walnut William and Mary period escritoire with wonderful fitted interior and colour c.1700. The top section with moulded cornice sat over a bowed front shallow map drawer and quarter veneered figured walnut and herringbone crossbanded fall front. Opens to to reveal a fitted interior with a selection of small drawers and pigeon holes, cupboard to the centre with drawers to the interior, leathered writing surface to the interior of the fall front. The base section with double moulding to the top to hold the top section in place, two over two drawers below with figure...d book matched veneers and herringbone crossbanding to match the top. Broad moulded plinth forming the foot with stylish turned bun feet set to the corners. Wonderful rich colour and deep polish, complimented by brass fittings and escutcheons.
