A Victorian polished walnut case aneroid barometer made by Aitchinson of London c.1890. Porcelain dial with visible works to the centre and bearing the maker's name, 'Aitchinson & Co, Opticians... to H.M. Govt, London & Provinces'. Cast brass bezel surround with thick bevelled edge glass viewing window and centre reading marker. Finely carved petal and leaf decoration to the solid walnut case with brass hanging plate to the rear. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep polish to the case, fully serviced and working. Measures 7.5" diameter x 2"deep x 8" high with hanging plate. Stock number 41724.
