A fine quality Victorian period obelisk Tunbridge ware desktop thermometer with bone scale and mercury action thermometer c.1880. Stepped base with immaculate Tunbridge decoration to all sides... and matching decoration to the chamfered edge tapering pillar. Three sides of the obelisk and base pillar with floral decoration and a complementing parquetry design decoration below the thermometer on the front side. Inset bone thermometer scale with original mercury action thermometer in full working order. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine and original patina. No damage or losses to the inlay. Measures 2.5" square at base x 7.75" high. Stock number 41041.
