A superb quality Victorian figured mahogany serpentine fronted correspondence box with solid silver decorative fittings, hallmarked London 1894. The exterior veneered with choice figured mahogany veneers, boxwood and ebony chequered stringing to the edges. Solid silver axe drop handle with floral back plate to the lid and superb fretted two piece lock escutcheon and clasp to the serpentine front, complimenting silver hinges to the rear, all with matching hallmarks.
