A superb quality Victorian coromandel two section cigar box with silver mounts and handle in the art Nouveau style, hallmarked London 1897. Dense well grained timber with the original polish, moulded ...edge to the double hinged two section top; opens on locking hinges to reveal a blonde mahogany lined interior in unused condition. Solid silver decorative corner trims and complimenting heavy quality carry handle with strap fasteners. Each fitting bearing the hallmarks for London 1897 and the makers mark for John Newton Mappin & George Webb (Mappin & Webb) Retailers label to the front for Mappin & Webb 2 Queen St. London. The best quality presented in immaculate condition. Measures 9" wide x 7.25" deep x 5" high including the handle. Stock number 34239.
