A late Victorian polished black slated and terracotta marble mantle clock with bell chiming 8 day French movement c.1890. Rectangular base in polished black slate with terracotta coloured marble dr...um head above, serpentine design supports set either side. The case with carved decoration to the front and to the drum head. Porcelain dial with Roman numerals sat behind a glazed brass framed hinged opening door. Paris made 8 day bell chiming movement, fully overhauled and working. Presented in good original condition, small chip to the dial only obvious on close inspection. Measures 11.5" wide x 5" deep x 8.5" high. Stock number 38809.
