A Victorian silver topped traveling inkwell with engraved top and cut crystal base, hallmarked London 1879. Hinged lid with decorative engraving with cast rim below and locking nut to th...e front edge to secure the lid for transport. The hinged lid with internal leather washer and surface plate with hole to dip the pen. Faceted cut crystal base with star cut design to the underside. Bears the makers mark for London silversmith Thomas Whitehouse along with clear hallmarks. Presented in good condition with perfect crystal ware; small indentation to the side of the lid. Measures 3.5" long x 1.5" deep x 1.5" high. Stock number CS248.
