A Victorian polished oak banjo barometer made by Gray & Selby of Nottingham c.1885. The elegant proportioned solid oak case with carved decoration to the shaped top and a rich patina. ...;The circular porcelain dial bearing the maker's name and weather predictions, set behind a bevelled edge glass mounted in a polished brass bezel with central reading marker. Matching porcelain scale to the original mercury action thermometer sat to the top half of the case. Presented in immaculate condition and in full working order; rich colour and original patina to the casework. Measures 9.5" wide x 2.75" deep x 28.5" long. Stock number 40483.
