Victorian Ormolu Mantel Clock
A stylish Victorian ormolu cased 8 day French mantel clock with gong chiming in full working order c.1885. Domed top with cast decoration and finial to the centre, decorative crown forming a cornice below. Dished silvered dial below with gilt centre and Roman numerals, set behind a bevelled edge glass mounted in a hinged door. Decorative castings surrounding the dial, complementing sides with lion mask handles. The flared base with cherub mask to the front and small claw feet set to the corners. 8 day Paris made movement with anchor escapement and gong chiming on the hou...rs and half hours; fully serviced and working. Presented in immaculate original condition with excellent original ormolu finish. Measures 14" high x 7" deep x 7" wide. Stock number 40139.
