Victorian Oak Starburst Banjo Barometer
A superior quality small proportioned Victorian solid carved golden oak banjo barometer with aneroid movement and porcelain scales, fully serviced and working c.1885. The small and slim proportioned casework with carved crest to the top, complementing crest to the base and carved sunburst set around the edge of the dial. Porcelain dial with weather predictions sat around the outer sat behind a bevelled edge glass with central reading marker; the glass mounted in a polished brass bezel. Matching scale to the original mercury action thermometer sat above with dial. Presented in excellent orig...inal condition with a deep shine, fully serviced and working. Measures 24" long x 7" wide x 5" dial diameter x 2.5" deep. Stock number 42059.
