Victorian Oak Cased Fitzroy Barometer
A mid Victorian oak cased Admiral Fitzroy barometer with original hand tinted chart, in full working order c.1875. Simple oak case with moulded edge to the front and fretted pediment to the top. Original printed hand tinted chart to the interior with Admiral Fitzroy's predictions for the weather. Mercury action barometer tube set to the centre with storm tube and thermometer either side of the barometer tube. Original glazed view window sat over the top and twin brass vernier markers either side of the case for marking today's and yesterday's weather. Presented in excellent o...riginal condition and in full working order. Measures 42" high x 7" wide x 2" deep. Stock number 41976.
