A very collectable Negretti & Zambra RNLI fishermans barometer with early serial number c.1880. Zinc plated steel case with original patina, cast brass bezel to the front with rear fastenings for weather protection and quarter plate bevel edge glass view window. Porcelain enamel dial bearing the makers name and serial number 1252, fine blued steel pointer and reading marker to the centre of the glass. Rapid indicating aneroid movement in full working order. Originally sold to fishermen at a subsidised rate of 11 shillings 6d and regarded as a high quality instrument. Presented in excellent ori...ginal condition and fully working. Measures 6" diameter x 2.5" deep. Stock number 38080.
