A Victorian brass cased marine barometer with skeletonised movement and crescent thermometer, sat in the original carved oak desk top cradle, fully serviced and working c.1885. The brass cased... marine barometer with dished case, hanging loop to the top and skeletonised aneroid movement set to the centre. White dial set around the outer edge with weather predictions and original mercury action crescent thermometer to the bottom half. The barometer is sat in the original carved golden oak desk top cradle within a recessed dished section; thereby holding the barometer securely in place for display purposes when not in use. The barometer fully serviced and working and in excellent condition, plus the stand with a rich colour and original patina. Barometer excluding the cradle measures 5.25" diameter x 2.5" deep. Cradle with barometer sat in measures 11" wide x 2" deep x 7.25" high. Stock number 42062.
