A Victorian games compendium with original contents in a chess and backgammon box C.1900. Inlaid box with chess board to the exterior opening to reveal an interior with inlaid finish forming a backgammon board. Inner tray that lifts out, with original contents comprising of a full ebony and fruitwood chess set, matching draughts set, bone and ebony dominoes set, cribbage board, dice with two turned fruitwood shakers and various games scoring markers. Excellent condition with a deep shine. Measures 18" wide x 11" deep closed x 4" high. 18" x 22" open. Stock number 34688.
