Victorian French Repeating Carriage Clock
A fine quality Victorian 8 day decorative gilt cased striking and repeating carriage clock c.1890. The gilt brass case with original finish, reeded columns to the corners with small finials about and ...feet to the base. Serpentine panels to the base and below the top with floral decoration forming the frame. Bevelled edge glass to all for sides and matching circular view window to the top. Decorative cream enamel dial with Roman numerals surrounded by swags of flowers. Original blued steel hands. The 8 day movement with original lever escapement and striking on a gong to the hour and half hour, repeater button to the top. Presented in excellent condition with a deep shine and original patina, full working order. Measures 4" wide x 3.5" deep x 6.6" high / 7.75" with handle up. Stock number 37094.
