A fine quality Victorian brass cased four glass mantle clock with 8 day movement and gong striking c.1880. The polished brass case with moulded edge below the surface forming a small cornice. Slender ...rounded corners with inset framed door to the front and rear; apron foot with cutouts to the base to form small bracket feet. Quarter plate bevelled edge glass to all four sides in perfect condition. Cream porcelain enamel dial with Arabic numerals, decorative fretwork floral design gilt dial centre and original blued steel hands. Paris made 8 day movement with anchor escapement and mercury compensated pendulum. Strikes on the hour and half hour on a gong. Fully overhauled movement and presented working order with a deep shine to the case. Measures 10.5" high x 7" wide x 5.5" deep. Stock number 38687.
