A Victorian county house walnut handled 'butlers grab' with original brass fittings in full working order c.1880. Long turned and slightly tapering walnut handle with brass operating lever&nbs...p;to the upper end; rebate to the top for the rod that moves the claw end. The claw end in full working order with grips to the inside of the pads. Operated by squeezing the lever to pick up small items or for larger items the lever can be pushed away from the handle. Measures 47" long overall with a 6.5" brass grab fitting that opens to 2.5" wide. Handle 1" diameter. Stock number 41750.
