A Victorian carved oak banjo barometer with porcelain dial and skeletonised movement in superb original condition c.1885. Solid carved figured oak case with crest to the top and complementing crest... to the base. Porcelain dial with weather predictions sat around the outer edge and skeletonised movement to the centre, which is sat in a patinated brass housing. Bevelled edge glass with central reading marker, mounted in a polished brass bezel. Matching scale to the thermometer with original mercury action thermometer sat in a glazed oak box to the upper section of the case. Presented in superb original condition, fully serviced and working. Measures 36" long x 11" wide x 2.5" deep. Stock number 42010.
