Victorian Burr Walnut Writing Slope
A Victorian dome topped burr walnut writing slope with original fitted interior c.1880. The burr walnut exterior with decorative inlaid bone shield to the centre of the domed top. Matching bone lock escutcheon to the front, with the top opening and folding over to form a writing surface. Coromandel lined interior with original tooled Royal blue velvet writing surface; each side opening to reveal a storage compartment for stationary. The larger compartment has a concealed spring release panel, which has secret drawers set behind. Pen and ink rack to the front edge, storage com...partment below the pen tray. Presented in superb original condition with a deep polish. Measures 11.5" wide x 9" deep x 6" high. Extends to 18" long when open. Stock number 41460.
