An immaculate late Victorian mahogany cased Romney's artist box and original contents C.1890. Polished mahogany hinged top box opening to reveal an original fitted interior with a selection of illuminating colours (15 pots), pot of Water Gold Size for Illuminating, porcelain mixing dishes (various sizes), brushes (various), pencil, various artist implements, pallet knife, tube of raising composition, glass dish, pot of liquid gum, selection of shells and several layers of gold leaf. Original makers label to the inside of the lid. Working lock and key. Measures 11" wide x 8" deep x 2.25" high.
