Unusual Victorian Painted Mahogany Post Box
An unusual Victorian solid mahogany post box with drawer to the base and later painted decoration to the panels c.1885. Hinged top with panelled centre and moulded edges sat over a matching panelled sided base, drawer below. Moulded plinth foot with small bun feet below. The panelled lid centre painted to look like a letter slot with the word letters sign written. The base panels of the front and sides painted to resemble bevelled edge glass panels with letters behind; very realistic from a distance. Shallow stationery drawer below with brass handle. The hinged lid opening&n...bsp;to reveal a clean interior. A very useable and decorative piece presented in superb condition with a deep shine. Measures 17.5" wide x 10" deep x 15" high.
