An unusual Victorian deep oak cased bulk head marine barometer by Whyte Thomson & Co, Glasgow c.1890. The deep turned polished oak case with mounting flange to the rear and brass bezel to the f...ront with inset glazed view window, reading marker to the centre. The white enameled glass dial sat over a rapid indicating aneroid movement, fully serviced and working. Bear's the makers name for Glasgow scientific instrument makers Whyte Thomson & Co, working from 1889 at 142-44 Broomielaw. Presented in excellent condition with a deep polish, fully serviced and working. Measures 8.75" diameter x 3.75" deep. Stock number 40155.
