Unusual Moorcroft Circular Table Box
An usual design early Moorcroft Pomegranate circular table box and cover in mint condition c.1913. Circular form with flat sides, the matching lid with deep rim dropping onto the base, the foot of ...the base also with matching rim. The lid decorated with a continuous band of tube lined pomegranates, some with desirable open fruits painted in deep reds and ochre tones, set against a dark blue ground. The base decorated to match. Cream glazed interior and underside, signed William Moorcroft in full and impressed with the early Moorcroft Burslem factory impression indicating a 1913 year of manufacture. Presented in perfect unrestored condition with no scratches or chips. Measures 7" diameter x 3" high. Stock number 38915.
