Superior Quality Victorian Marine Barometer in Presentation Case
A superior quality Victorian brass cased marine barometer with two piece dial and crescent thermometer in the original presentation case, fully serviced and working c.1885. Dished brass case with hanging loop to the top; stepped two piece dial with pressure reading to the outer scale and temperature reading to the inner scale. Five weather predictions in ornate script to the upper half of the dial. Glazed viewing window set in a polished brass bezel with reading marker knob to the centre. Sat in the original black leather cloth covered presentation case with velvet lined interior. Pres...ented in excellent condition with a deep polish, fully serviced and working. Barometer measures 4.75" diameter x 6" high including hanging loop x 2" deep. Stock number 41859.
