A superb Victorian figured oak and brass cased three bottle tantalus with original and perfect cut crystal decanters, retailed by Mappin Brothers, London c.1885.  The figured oak cas...ework with a three compartment base to hold the decanters, fretted shaped sides supporting the brass locking bar with decorative carrying handle to the top and working lock and key set to the side.  Complementing decorative polished brass mounts to the corners of the base.  The three original hob nail cut crystal decanters with matching stoppers in perfect condition with no chips or cracks and good clarity.  Bears the manufacturers name Betjemanns to the locking bar along with retailers label for Mappin Brothers, London to the base.  Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine, perfect glassware and working lock and key.  Measures 13.5" wide x 5.5" deep at the base x 9" high to the top of the locking bar or 12.5" to the top of the carrying handle.  Stock number 39290.
