A superb quality early Victorian figured mahogany bow fronted stick barometer in full working order C.1850. Cushion moulded cornice sat over the bow fronted bevelled edge glass with bone scale to the mercury action movement with twin vernier markers. Matching slim bow fronted flame veneered centre section with the original bow fronted glazed thermometer box to the centre; original bone scale and mercury action thermometer with oversized reservoir. Decorative urn design cistern cover to the base. Bears the makers name Cartwright, Preston. Fully restored movement in full working order. Superb co...lour and original patina. Measures 38" high x 4.5" maximum width at top (2.75" trunk width) x 2.5" depth. Stock number 35480.
