A superb Victorian carved oak cased aneroid with engraved silvered scale by highly regarded maker Hicks of London C.1885. Carved rope twist design case with fine quality engraved decoration to the silvered dial, mercury action crescent thermometer below, aneroid movement behind. Bevelled edge glass set in a polished brass bezel and centre reading marker. A fine quality instrument presented in immaculate condition and full working order. Measures 8" diameter x 2.5" deep.
