Superb Tortoise Shell Cased Swiss Mantel Clock
A superb quality Victorian tortoise shell mantle clock with Swiss 8 day movement and ormalu trim. C.1890. Balloon shaped case with brass strung edge,and well marked tortoise shell veneers with a deep polish. White porcelain convex dial sat behind bevel edge glass in and ormalu bezel. Matching trim to the case and feet. Swiss 8 day platform escapement movement by Buren, Switzerland. Immaculate condition. Fully overhauled movement. Measures 11.25" high x 7" wide x 4" deep.
