Superb Small George II Walnut Chest on Stand
A superb antique George II period figured walnut small proportioned chest on stand with shell design mounts to the cabriole legs, standing just 33" wide. c.1730. Quarter veneered figured timber top with cross banded edges over a moulded stepped cornice. Two over two drawer formation with book matched veneers and cross banded edges. Decorative drop brass handles with fretted back plates. Matching veneers and cross banded edges to the sides. Sat on a cabriole leg base with shell carved relief to the top of the front legs, supported by a scalloped edge apron with quarter moulded trim to the upp...er edge. Superb original mellow colour and original patina. Measures 33" wide x 18" deep x 45.5" high. Stock number 34110.
