Superb Regency Figured Rosewood Stick Barometer

A superb Regency period figured rosewood stick barometer with decorative brass stringing and engraved silvered scale by William Ure of Glasgow c.1820. The slim proportioned case with moulded architectural pediment to the top, the silvered scale below sat behind a glazed door with tucks to the lower corners. The slim trunk with feathered figured veneers set either side of the barometer tube, hinged opening oval cistern cover door to the base.
