A superb quality Victorian figured mahogany Sheraton inlaid sideboard with lion mask fittings by highly regarded makers Edwards & Roberts c.1880. The figured mahogany top with bowed ends to the... front and satin wood crossbanding to the edges. The kneehole style front with three drawers, the right hand drawer with metal lining for use as a cellaret. Superb quality and detailed inlays to the drawers in fruitwood and boxwood, plus sunburst inlays either side of the centre drawer. Fruitwood strung ends, tapering legs with matching fruitwood stringing and original gilt brass lion mask handles with ring drops and working locks. Stamped Edwards & Roberts to the centre drawer; makers and retailers of fine furniture 1845-1899 and who's clients included Queen Victoria and Duke of Cambridge. This superbly detailed piece presented in immaculate condition with a rich colour and patina. Measures 52" wide x 17.75" deep x 32" high. Stock number 41874.
