Superb Persian Pure Wool Rug
A superb antique Persian pure wool hand knotted rug from the Shariz area of Persia, in superb condition c.1900. Dark red ground to the diamond shaped central panel with medallion to the middle, surrounded by an interlinked geometric floral design to the remaining panel area. Cream ground with matching decoration to the top and bottom of the diamond panel and triple banded floral border to the outer edge. Good quality heavy rug with deep hand knotted pile and irregular knotting typical of older examples. Presented in excellent condition, newly cleaned ...and stain free. Measures 76.5" long x 47.5" wide. Stock number 41628.
