A superb Victorian oil on canvas by well regarded artist James Edwin Meadows. C.1870. The large canvas superbly painted in classic Meadows style with soft greens and blues, depicting cattle watering in a rolling countryside setting on a summers day. Signed bottom right, sat in a quality swept timber gilt frame. James Edwin Meadows 1828 - 1888 was born in Mountnessing, Essex and was the son of James Meadows senior, an accomplished and famous marine artist. J E Meadows exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1854 and 1872 along with the British Institute. This painting is presented in superb ori...ginal clean condition. Measures 56" wide x 36" high x 3" deep.
