Superb Edwardian Robe with Original Painted and Gilded Finish
A superb Edwardian break front robe with original painted and gilded finish by Hamptons of Pall Mall, London c.1910. Two full length mirrored door robes with hanging shelf to the top and rail for h...anging clothes below. Bow fronted centre section with door to the top half, press trays for clothes or linen set behind; three deep drawers below. The exterior pained in the original soft cream finish with lichen green banding and gilt trim. The centre bow fronted door with a hand painted oval panel to the centre depicting two young girls harvesting wheat, that are complemented by floral panels to the drawers below. Original quarter plate bevel edge mirrors to the doors with carved gilded boarder to the edge. Bears the makers label for London retailers Hamptons of Pall Mall to the interior, superb quality and presented in excellent original condition. Separates into five pieces for transporting. Measures 78" wide at the cornice x 22" deep x 7' 1" high. Stock number 40144.
