Superb Early Victorian Rosewood Sewing Cabinet
A superb early Victorian rosewood sewing cabinet with mother of pearl inlaid exterior and original fitted interior. C 1840. Lifting caddy style top and double opening doors to the front, turned reeded decorative edges with matching feet and carry handles to the sides. Opens to reveal an original gold leather and silk lined interior with two fitted drawers bellow and a pull out writing slope below with silver topped ink wells. Mirror in the lid opening to reveal a hidden note compartment. Original decorative mother of pearl cotton spools included. Excellent original condition. Measures 11.5" wi...de x 9" deep x 13" high.
