Superb Early Moorcroft Claremont Dish
A superb early Moorcroft Claremont rolled neck dish in mint condition, signed William Moorcroft to the base c.1912. The unusual oblong form dish with rolled over sides decorated with a continuous band of tube lined toadstools of varying sizes to all sides. The background of the exterior painted in a soft green with the toadstools each individually painted in varying tones of reds and yellows. The interior of the dish painted in a teal blue underglaze. Signed in full by William Moorcroft to the base along with 'des' (design). Free of factory impressions dating this to be a very ear...ly example of Moorcrofts own factory work. A rare shape, superbly decorated in perfect unrestored condition. Measures 9.75" long x 6.5" deep x 2.5" high. Stock number 41063.
