Superb Early Georgian Northallerton Longcase Clock

A Superb Early Georgian oak cased 8 Day longcase clock made by Mannassah Beckett of Northallerton*.c.1730. Brass and silvered dial with date aperture and seconds count. Moulded cornice hood with turned pillars to the front and side view windows. Shaped top door case. Slim proportions. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Superb patina and rich colour. Stands 78.5"high * Mannassah Beckett is the earliest clockmaker listed in Northallerton. Records show he married on St Valentine's Day in 1719! Rare to find this early North Yorkshire clockmaker.
