A superb quality Victorian coromandel veneered ladies traveling box with outstanding original fitted interior and full matching set of solid silver jars, hallmarked London 1868. The polished coromande...l veneered exterior with brass mounted edges and matching brass stringing, working Bramah lock and key to the front. The hinged lid opening to reveal an original dark blue leather and velvet lined interior. Ten silver toped cut crystal jars for toilet items and scents set around the sides, velvet pad to the centre with mother of pearl handled manicure set. Velvet backed leather bound mirror removeable from the inside of the lid, the centre section of the interior lifting out to reveal a storage compartment. Engraved silver hinges, corner reinforcers and release button for the concealed writing surface with original leather surface and paper storage compartment. Each silver top with matching hallmarks and bearing the makers mark for Thomas Whitehouse, specialist maker of jar tops. Presented in superb original condition with a deep shine. Box measures 12" wide x 9" deep x 7" high. Stock number CS103.
