A superb mid Victorian brass trimmed coromandel stationary box with Wedgwood panel to the lid and original fitted interior c.1870. The box with sloping lid and coromandel veneers to all surfaces. T...he lid and front decorated applied brass fittings with stud fastenings. The centre of the lid inset with a blue Wedgwood panel with brass rope twist design boarder. The hinged lid opening to reveal an immaculate lined interior with divisions to hold the letters and stationery. London retailers label to the interior, presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine and original patina. Measures 9.5" wide x 6" deep x 7.5" maximum height. Stock number 38889.
