A superb original signed bronze of a Retriever by French sculptor Paul Edouard Delabrierre, 1829 - 1912. This fine example of his work depicting a Retriever with duck in mouth entitled '...Chien de Chasse' (Hunting dog with bird in mouth). Wonderful detail throughout typical of the artist with excellent original patina, signed to the bottom right. The artist born in Paris in 1829 specialised in sculptures of animals and exhibited over 70 of his works at the prestigious Paris Salon - click here for more information on this artist. This example presented in outstanding original condition. 10.25" long at the base and 13" maximum length head to tail x 4" deep at the base x 8.5" high. Stock number BA13.
