A stylish fine quality George I style figured walnut side or gaming table with single drawer c.1880. The shallow proportioned top with shaped swept sides forming an elbow to each corner, the surface with book matched veneers and herringbone crossbanding. Apron below with long drawer to the front, book matched veneers and cock beaded edge, original engraved brass fittings. Cabriole legs set to the front corners with decorative carving to the shoulders and elegant pad foot to the base; matching legs to the rear. The top opening to reveal a green baized interior with walnut banded edge, folds ...over to form a gaming surface supported by one of the gate action rear legs. Superb quality and condition with an excellent colour and rich patina. Measures 31.5" wide x 16" deep x 29" high. Stock number 38593.
