Brass and silvered dial with ringed winders, date aperture and seconds count. ...Strikes on a bell to the hour. Figured walnut case with ebony beading and pillar supports. Glass lenticel to the case door. Fretwork to the moulded cornice top. Ebony stringing to the edges. Superb colour and patina. Stands 78"high. * Joseph and Thomas(son) Windmills of London working 1671-1737. Master of the clock makers company preceding Thomas Tompion after 1702. The partnership also took over Tompion's maintenance of the Tower of London and other Crown contracts.
