RESERVED A small proportioned William & Mary period oak chest of drawers with fruit inlaid initials and bun feet c.1690. Boarded top with applied moulded edge and complementing moulded fronts to the dividing rails between the four drawers. The drawer fronts with applied mouldings and diamond shaped mounts behind the handles on the top drawer plus owners initials inlaid to the third drawer, which is unusal and possibly to celebrate a marriage. Moulded base rail with bun feet below, framed panelled sides and original boarded back. Period lock brass escutcheons and brass pea...r drop fittings. Superb mellow colour throughout with rich polish, presented in excellent original unaltered condition. Measures 31.5" wide x 21" deep x 34" high. Stock number 42225.
