Small Waring and Gillow Walnut Tallboy Chest
A fine quality small proportioned 1920's crossbanded burr walnut tallboy chest by Waring & Gillow of Lancaster in superb original condition. Fashioned in the style of a chest on chest with swan neck pediment to the top and small cornice below. Eight graduated drawers below the top row split into two repeated to the lower half. The drawer fronts with book matched burr veneers and crossbanded edges, canted corners with complementing herringbone crossbanding. Sat on a moulded foot with the original bracket feet below. Figured timber sides and oak drawer linings, the original working ...brass locks with key and stamped with the makers name. Superb quality, colour and original patina. Measures 32" maximum width x 19" maximum depth x 72" high. Stock number 39216.
