A small proportioned George III style burr walnut bachelors chest with fold over top in superb condition c.1880. The small proportioned chest with shallow depth, the burr walnut top with book match...ed veneers folding over top make a figured veneer writing surface. Four graduated drawers below each with burr veneers and crossbanded edges to match the top, engraved decorative handles and matching lock escutcheons. Moulded plinth to the base with bracket feet below and figured veneers to the sides. Excellent quality and condition throughout with a rich colour and deep polish. Measures 24.5" wide x 11.5" deep or 23.25" deep with top open x 29.5" high. Stock number 41652.
