A small Regency brass inlaid ebonised lancet top single fusee bracket clock with enamel dial by James Bennett of Norwich, fully serviced and working c.1810. The small proportioned ebonised case wit...h lancet top and brass stringing to the front and complementing brass wire work decoration below the dial. Fretwork sound frets to the sides with gilt lion mask ring drop handles sat to the centre of each and brass bun feet to the base. Cast brass hinged bezel with engine turned border and convex glass forming the dial window; key release catch to the side. White porcelain enamel convex dial with Roman numerals, the makers name and blued steel hands. The eight day duration single fusee movement with anchor escapement and arched top plates, original pendulum and securing bolt. James Bennett of Norwich 1760 - 1845 and was apprentice to Peter Amyot and gained the freedom of the city of Norwich as a clock maker in 1781. This superb example in excellent original condition, fully serviced and working and sold with a previous bill of sale (dated 1960) along with service bills for 40 years with the same owner.
