A small proportioned George II period walnut mirror door bureau bookcase with wonderful colour and polish c.1730. Narrow proportioned with swan neck pediment to the top and original gilt pateras and finial. Single mirror door with plaster gilt frieze to the ori6mercury floated mirror glass. Candle slide below the door. The bookcase section opening to reveal two drawers and two adjustable shelves. Five drawer bureau base with good fitted interior and recently re-leathered writing surface. The drawers with book matched figured timbers and herringbone crossbanding. Original brassware, working loc...ks and keys. Superb mellow colour and polish. Measures 20.5" maximum width x 17.5" deep at the base x 6' 4" high. Stock number 37248.
