A superb quality late Victorian small pure wool Persian rug from the Isfahan region of Persia in an unworn condition c.1900. Deep pile with a high knot count, typical of the high quality rugs from the Isfahan region. Crimson red background with a decorative medallion to the centre in champagne, pale blue and navy and matching tones to the surrounding decoration. Delicate floral design decoration to the main panel with complementing blue infills to the corners and to the border along the rug edge. Slim geometric floral design border to the o...uter edge. Presented in immaculate condition with no ware or stains and newly cleaned ready for use. Measures 21.5" wide x 36" long. Stock number 42266.
