Short & Mason Portable Barometer
A superior quality late Victorian brass cased portable barometer by Short & Mason, fully serviced and working c.1900. Polished brass case with folding easel stand to the rear, engine turned brass bezel to the front. The glazed view window with reading marker to the outer edge adjusted by turning the bezel. Silvered dial with blued steel pointer sat over a high quality aneroid movement. Bears the makers name for highly regarded instrument and barometer maker Short & Mason, London. Fully serviced and working with a high polish to the case. Measures 2.5" diameter x 0.75"... deep x 2" deep with easel open. Stock number 40238.
